The Central Subway project will serve the heavily trafficked Stockton corridor. Chinatown, with a population over 100,000 people, will be the start or end point to this second phase of the system line that started in 2007. The Chinatown line will connect the existing transit stations to the north side of town and to the San Francisco’s newest trendy neighborhood China Basin. The four new station locations include: Chinatown, Union Square, Moscone, and 4th & Brannan. It’s a $1.6B transit project with $942M coming from the federal government. This is a very cool project and will add to our great city. And, it’s not over yet! You can read more about this project www.sfmta.com.
